So I know that I have been slacking at writing blogs. I have been pretty busy with everything. And now that the holidays are over, I catch you up on things.
Thanksgiving: Well I was set to go on days off that night and wasn't able to enjoy the festivities with my family. When I got home, my girlfriend and I went to my sister and brother-in-law's house to get some desert. YUM!
We were quite not sure if we wanted to go to Black Friday shopping in the morning, but we heard that Toys R Us was going to be open at 10 that night. So we went. Lets say the lines were like being at Disneyland on opening day weekend for Indiana Jones Ride. It was crazy. We spent a good two hours in line, but we did get good toys!
So since our family did not have thanksgiving, we ended up having it the next week. We all decided that we were sick of Turkey, so we had Rib eye Steaks instead. Yum. One thing I figured over the years, is that if you wanna see Felicia's boyfriend, Clink, you cook steaks.
Christmas: It came early this year. One of the things that comes with my job is planning to do holidays not on the holiday. Got to spend time with my girlfriend's family and with my family, even the ones from California. It is so nice to be around family at these times. Thank you to all my family for all the wonderful presents. Christmas is another time that I remember my parents. 22 years ago and 3 years ago my parents
passed away around Christmas. I always love them. I miss them.
So wrapping up the 2010 year, I would have to say that it has been very eventful and wonderful. As I look back at the last ten years, I would have never thought that I would be the person I am today. I am very grateful for the happy times and sad times. I look forward to the times ahead of me.

It's that time of the year again. BOO!!!
This year I am bummed. I am working during Halloween. Last year, I dressed up as a ninja and went around to a pub crawl and went to a Utes game.
That Year I was able to go to California to meet up with my sister and her family. We went to the Los Angeles Zoo and did trick or treating there and then enjoyed ourselves at Disneyland. I have to say that Disneyland is so fun to visit when it is Halloween.
This year, since I have this new scheduel, I will not get to partake in any of the Halloween festivities. Sad. But if you wanna know what I will be dressing up as, I will be dressing like a Roughneck (oilfield worker). Scary isn't it. lol.
Oh and if you wanna make a dontation of yummy candy, I will be taking them at my house.

It's what I do......
So most of my friends and family ask me, "Isaac, what do you do for work???" Most of the times, I reply to them this, "oh, well I work in the oil fields. I'm a roughneck." Well hell, that is not very descriptive of what I do. Here it is!
My official title is Top Drive Tech. What the hell is a top drive tech???? Start you out with the basic. Is is a oil rig.
These are some of the newest rigs in Ensign United States drilling. These rigs look scary but the new technology has taken the workers away from the danger. One of the technology that take the rig workers away is called a top drive.

This is a top drive unit. I consist of a lot of moving parts, electrical, and hydraulics. When ever there is a thing that breaks down I end up troubleshooting or replacing a part. And most of the time, we are suspended up in the air for long period of time. I am basically a mechanic. So since the breakdowns are unpredictable, I am on call 24 hrs. My work schedule two weeks on and one week off. This job is pretty demanding for the time that you put into it.
Last night, we ended up receiving a call for a ripped service loop (if you look at the picture above there are black hoses that hang down. The right one is the service loop). Pretty much they ripped the lines apart. We replace hoses and wires all night long and took about 12 hrs. Although it seems hard, It was quite easy to fix and replace, yet very time consuming.
I love my job and enjoy what I do, Although I would eventually want to end up with a job that I could go home to every night. If you have any questions with my job ask me. (and if you are interested in working in this type of work, ask me, they might be hiring)

Life restarted!!!
Have you ever thought that life was so chaotic and you could never get back to normalacy. That was my life for the past year. For most of you, you may know that I was married and divorce. I was a living rollercoaster for the last several years. I was happy to be married yet ashamed for having my marriage fail so fast. I told my family and some friends. I shut myself away from everything.
Now I seem to be getting off that rollercoaster and starting a ride. One that is going to take me somewhere better. I recently taken a new postion with my job. I am a Top Drive Tech with Ensign United States Drilling. I work for two weeks and I get one week off. About that time that I started the job, I started to date the sweetest and funniest girl. We have too much fun together.
So I've taken on a few projects. First of all, I wanna have a written blog about my life and all the chaos that ensues. Second, considering I am gone so much of the month, it has been a damper on my past relationships. It takes a wonderful woman to put up with the time I am never home. So we have come up with a plan. We document our time away and together by video blog on Youtube. We will also give advice on relationships and long distance dating. although we are just starting to date, we are going to take this project on. This project is still in the works but will soon show up.
I would love for everyone to join us in our adventures and follow the choas.
